Terms of service

These terms govern your use of TopCrew at crew.onlyhulls.com (the “Service”), operated by the same team that runs OnlyHulls (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. What TopCrew is

TopCrew is an aggregator. We collect public yacht crew job listings from agency boards and community sources, source-check them, and let you track your job hunt in one place. We don’t employ crew, we aren’t a recruitment agency, we don’t negotiate contracts on your behalf, and we don’t take a placement fee. Every role links back to its original source — that’s who you ultimately deal with.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use TopCrew. By signing up you confirm you are.

3. Your account

  • Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it current.
  • Keep your password safe. You’re responsible for anything done through your account.
  • One account per person. Don’t share, sell or transfer your account.
  • Let us know promptly at hello@onlyhulls.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. Job listings & sources

Listings on TopCrew are aggregated from public sources. We do our best to surface accurate, current, paid roles and to flag suspicious patterns, but we don’t guarantee any listing’s accuracy, availability, pay, vessel details, or that the role is still open. Always verify on the original source before you send personal information.

Drafts that the Service helps you compose are starting points only. You choose whether and where to send anything. Treat every interaction outside TopCrew as your own — see spot a scam.

5. Posting a role

Captains, owners, managers and recruiters can submit roles via /post-role. Every submission is reviewed before it goes public. We may decline, edit (for clarity) or remove a posting at our discretion — particularly if it asks for payment from crew, requests sensitive documents up front, misrepresents the vessel, or otherwise looks unsafe. Posting is currently free.

By submitting a role, you confirm that you have the right to post it and that the information is accurate.

6. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • Scrape, copy or republish our aggregated content in bulk without written permission.
  • Submit fraudulent listings or impersonate a captain, owner or agency.
  • Use the Service to spam, phish, or solicit crew for anything illegal.
  • Attempt to break the Service, access other users’ accounts, or bypass rate limits and security features.
  • Use automated tools to harvest data from TopCrew.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may report serious abuse to the relevant authorities.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the notes, drafts, follow-ups and other content you put into TopCrew. You grant us a limited licence to store and display this content back to you so the Service works. We don’t publish your private notes or drafts and we don’t share them with third parties beyond the processors listed in our privacy policy.

8. Third-party sources

When you click “Apply at source” (or any external link), you leave TopCrew and deal with that third party under their own terms and privacy policy. We aren’t responsible for what happens on their site or in the conversation that follows.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep TopCrew available 24/7 but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice for material changes.

10. No warranty

TopCrew is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no guarantees about job availability, pay, vessel condition, the legitimacy of any third-party source, or that you will find work through the Service. You make hiring and contract decisions at your own discretion.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses — including lost income, lost opportunities, or losses arising from your dealings with third parties found via TopCrew. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you’ve paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently zero, as the Service is free) or (b) €100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited (such as for fraud or gross negligence).

12. Indemnity

If a third-party claim arises from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of defending against it.

13. Termination

You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@onlyhulls.com. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. On termination, the sections that should reasonably survive (liability, indemnity, governing law) survive.

14. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms in a material way, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and notify signed-in users by email. Continued use of the Service after that date counts as acceptance.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator is registered. Disputes go to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
